Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade in the second day of his visit to Belarus visited several joint projects and promised the Iranian investors residing in Belarus that the Iranian government will support their activities.

The Iranian industry minister underlined the need for broadening of relations between Tehran and Minsk.

On Wednesday, Belarus Prime Minister Andrej Kabiakou called for enhancement of Tehran and Minsk economic relations.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh on the sidelines of 13th joint economic commission meeting between Iran and Belarus in Minsk.

Calling the removal of Iran and Belarus sanctions an opportunity for boosting all-out ties, the official said that Belarus companies have already invested 700 million dollars in Iran.

He referred to Iran-Belarus roadmap for expansion of bilateral ties and called for an increase in the current 75 million dollars annual trade exchange between the two countries to reach 250 million dollars by 2017.

Belarus is ready for cooperation with Iran in the areas of industry, science, technology, banking, agriculture, bilateral investments, manufacturing of mining and road-building machineries, Belarus Premier added.

He said that by signing preferential trade agreements, Tehran and Minsk could promote ties more effectively.

Iranian industry minister on Wednesday also met Belarus Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovic.
