Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said on Monday that Iran and Azerbaijan Republic are getting prepared to connect national grid next month.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of 10th joint economic commission of Iran and Azerbaijan Republic.
He said that existing problems for connecting electricity networks between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic were discussed in the meeting and it is due to be connected next month.
Vaezi said that connection of electricity network between the two countries will create good opportunity in the region, which could be used for development of ties with other states.
He added that the 10th joint economic commission would have approvals, which will be finalized during visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Tehran in near future.
Minister of Communication announced formation of seven specialized committees in the framework of joint commission saying that the outcome of the committees activities will be signed by the two ministers as the final document.
Vaezi said that his Azeri counterpart Shahin Mustafaov will attend the commission.
Mustafaov will come to Iran to meet with Iran’s Chamber of Commerce members and deliver speech in Tabriz chamber of Commerce.
Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan Republic Shahin Mustafaov told reporters that development of north-south corridor is necessary and that expansion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism, medical treatment, oil, gas and transportation are growing.
The 10th joint Economic Commission meeting of Iran and Azerbaijan Republic held here on Monday morning in presence of Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi, as Iranian co-chair of the commission, and Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan Republic Shahin Mustafaov, as Azeri co-chairman of the commission, as well as around 100 persons from Azerbaijan public private sectors.
