Iran and Finland on Tuesday discussed ways of expanding bilateral ties in the field of information and communications technology, said the minister of communications and information technology.

‘ICT cooperation between Iran and Finland will increase in the areas of software as well as research and development,’ Mahmoud Vaezi said after a meeting with the visiting Foreign Trade Minister of Findland Lenita Toivakka here on Tuesday.

He welcomed Finland’s achievements in the field of ICT including the Nokia company and expressed the hope that Iran can use the experiences to develop its ICT sector.

‘It was decided that private sectors of the two countries will meet during the on-going visit of the 100-member delegation from Finland,’ Vaezi said.

The Finnish minister expressed her country’s readiness to raise the level of cooperation with Iran in modern and clean technologies.
