Iran’s Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh has proposed free trade on some goods to Serbia.

He made the remarks in the 14th meeting of Iran-Serbia Joint Cooperation Committee here on Tuesday.

He stressed that Iran was after long-term and strategic cooperation with world countries and favoured joint investments.

Noting that Iran neighbors 14 countries through land and sea which accommodate a total population of 400 million, he urged foreign countries to use Iran’s security and rich resources as the focal point of their economic activities.

He said Iran will certainly support the activities of foreign countries inside Iran.

Referring to Iran’s potential in various arenas, the minister said the nation enjoyed remarkable record in varsity, mines, oil and gas, petrochemistry and steel areas.

An Iranian official says that Serbian businessmen and traders are interested in the big market of Iran and seek cooperation with their Iranian counterparts.

Head of Iran-Serbia Chamber of Commerce Saeed Hosseini had told IRNA earlier that Serbian businessmen were keen to enter the Iranian market while the Iranian merchants have the same inclination towards the Serbian markets, as well.

He further stressed the need for both Iranian and Serbian businessmen to get familiar with the potentials of the either market.

He noted that a large delegation comprising 30 Serbian businessmen and traders is to take part in the 14th joint trade committee of Iran and Serbia.
