President Hassan Rouhani’s Chief of Staff Mohammad Nahavandian said on Monday that one of the main measures taken by the government to improve business conditions was shattering arbitrary sanctions on the country.

‘Anti-Iran sanctions prevented Iranian merchants from properly engaging in economic activities, but we would witnessing their more active participation in global markets in the future,’ Nahavandian said addressing a conference in Tehran on improving business conditions.

He said that the strategy of Iranian economy in the upcoming years is ‘Economy of Resistance’ which has its roots in its popular foundations.

Underlining the need to pay due attention to the private sector, Nahavandian said that the government is determined to support small and medium-range businesses.

However, he noted that major companies will also need to receive support from the government in urgent cases.
