Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif conferred here with Poland’s deputy minister of development on economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Zarif elaborated on considerable economic capacities that Iran enjoys.

He also underlined that the two countries’ governments are determined to develop ties in both political and economic fields.

For his part, the Polish official said his country is willing to widen relations with Iran in the banking, energy and tourism areas.

Zarif began his four-nation European tour on Sunday leading a politico-economic delegation.

Warsaw was his first destination.

A large group of economic and tradesmen are accompanying Zarif in his visits to Poland, Finland, Sweden and Latvia.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski visited Iran on February 28, 2016, simultaneous with the 540th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Poland.

Poland became a member of the European Union in year 2004.
