Several German investors have voiced readiness to set up publishing industry unit in Ardebil in cooperation with Iranian firms, said managing director of Ardebil Industrial Townships Company said on Saturday.

Ebrahim Faridi said that the German investors engaged in producing machinery for publishing purpose are scheduled to undertake a joint venture with Shiran-Negar Company, biggest publishing industrial unit in northwestern Iran, in the field of publishing newspapers and textbooks.

Referring to 150 billion Rials investment by the company in the first phase, the investors also intend to establish a factory producing cardboard from waste papers.

Faridi also said that supporting foreign investors to create jobs and economic development requires all-out backing of state officials.

Putting the number of industrial townships at 16 across the province, he said that 15 other industrial townships have also been completed and are ready for joint venture investment.
