The Iranian experts have managed to end monopoly of UK and US over in the Persian Gulf, an official said on Tuesday.

Talking to IRNA, the managing director of the Bahr Gostaresh Hormoz Company, Abbas Raeisi, said the Iranian experts have attained self-sufficiency in overhauling offshore drilling rigs.

‘Since two years ago, the overhauling technologies of offshore drilling rigs were in monopoly of US and UK and the drilling rigs had to be transferred to Dubai, in United Arab Emirates, for repairing,’ he added.

‘The Bahr Gostaresh Hormoz Company has overhauled three offshore drilling rigs in the last two years,’ Raeisi said.

Iranian technical innovations have been a way to survive the Western imposed sanctions for years.

Another example of such innovation is in the aeronautics industry. Thanks to some of the world’s most skillful engineers and technicians, the Islamic Republic of Iran has become one of only a handful of countries capable of performing the servicing and overhaul of its own fleet of airplanes these days
