Some 137 companies from various countries attended an international conference in which new Iranian oil contracts were unveiled at the Oil Ministry on Saturday.

The conference which was held in Saturday in Tehran received the broad attention of the international oil and gas companies to an extent that some major international firms had dispatched their top officials to the event.
The US companies were not directly participating, but had dispatched mediators.
There were such major companies as the British Petroleum (BP) from Britain, the Royal Dutch Shell from the Netherlands, ENI from Italy, Gazprom, Luke Oil and Russ Naft from Russia, Siemens from Germany, Ruxell from Spain, Total from France and Statoil from Norway.
In addition to the European firms, there were representatives of major Asian oil giants such as Malaysia’s PETRONAS, Japan’s Inpex and Mitsubishi, South Korea’s Dilem and Samsung, India’s ONGC, and China’s China Petroleum and Sino Pec Chi.
