Minister of industries, mines and trade said here Tuesday that banking cooperation is the first step towards reengaging in trade exchanges.

Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh made the remarks addressing a conference today on expansion of Iran-Finland cooperation.

At the conference, Nematzadeh invited the Finnish banks to boost cooperation with Iran.

He added banks in other European countries have recently reached several agreements with Iran on related cooperation.

He further expressed Iran’s readiness to expand relations with Finland in insurance issues.

Two-year intensive talks between Iran and the six world powers brought a landmark nuclear agreement on July 14 that has created new atmosphere for international interaction, the Iranian minister said.

About Tehran-Helsinki ties, Nematzadeh said Iran is interested in long-lasting and strategic ties with the Finnish side.
