Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia said Tuesday that Iran needs foreign investments to reach a proper economic growth.

Tayyebnia was speaking during a gathering of Iranian ambassadors to foreign countries and envoys to international organizations in Tehran.

‘We expect Iranian ambassadors to introduce Iran’s investment capacities to foreign countries,’ Tayyebnia said.

Referring to the lifting of Western sanctions on Iran in the near future, Tayyebnia said that once the sanctions are lifted, Iran’s oil revenues will increase and these revenues have to serve the growth and prosperity of the country.

After lifting of the sanctions, Iran’s frozen assets will also be unblocked which provides Iran with an opportunity to gain high economic growth, he said.

However, he, warned about making previous mistakes and underlined the need for reducing dependence on foreign countries.
