Managing Director of Russia’s largest oil company, the Rosneft, Igor Sechin, arrived in Tehran on Tuesday for 4th time in as many weeks for negotiations with Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh.

Economic Desk analyst believes the closer Iran gets to the scheduled dates for termination of nuclear sanctions, Russian oil companies’ talks with Iran get more serious and intensive.

During the course of the past few weeks several Rosneft officials have met the Iranian oil and gas industry officials announcing readiness of the Russian firm for making investments in some Iranian oil and gas projects.

Sechin who arrived in Tehran on Tuesday morning at the top of a delegation in his meeting with Zangeneh announced his company’s readiness for making heavy investments in major oil and gas projects.

The Rosneft had earlier in a pool comprised of other Russian oil giant Lukoil and state-controlled Zarubezhneft Company welcomed Iran’s proposal for making investments in development of Changuleh field.
