British Minister of State for Trade and Investment Francis Maude welcomed Iran’s approach for promoting cooperation with other countries and world economy, saying it will serve the interests of the global community from different respects.
According to Iran’s Embassy in Kenya, he made the remarks in a meeting with Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh on the sidelines of Ministerial Conference of World Trade Organization (WTO).
Maude also hoped that appointment of the British ambassador in Tehran will help enhance economic ties between the two countries.
Nematzadeh called for facilitation of banking exchanges, saying that the two countries have the potential for cooperation in the field of petrochemicals.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has adopted necessary mechanism for promoting economic cooperation and joint investment, he said.
Iranian minister who is in Kenya to attend WTO Ministerial Conference is slated to hold talks with some of his counterparts on Iran’s programs to join WTO and mutual economic ties.
He will also confer with the Kenyan political, economic and monetary officials during his stay in the African state.
WTO Ministerial Conference was held in Nairobi from December 14-16.
