Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is scheduled to come to Tehran heading high ranking politico-economic delegation.
Greek Newspaper ‘Ethnos’ wrote on Saturday edition that Tsipras will meet with senior Iranian officials to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues during his 2-day visit.
Ethnos wrote that the two civilized nations of Iran and Greece have always maintained their friendly relations and have presented valuable cultural and scientific services to the world.
One of important element which makes development of strategic relations necessary between the two countries is the longstanding reciprocal respect between the two nations, the daily said.
The Greek daily said that Greece tried to develop Greek relations with Cyprus and Egypt and now intends to expand its strategic ties with Iran, which is an influential and powerful country in the region.
Ethnos said that during Tsipras visit to Tehran agreements on housing and road construction, food products, agricultural products, tourism, medicine and pharmaceutical industry, trade and foreign exchange and banking ties and cultural relations development will be signed.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias, Minister of Environment and Energy Panos Skourletis, Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism Giorgos Stathakis and Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas as well as 50 Greek industrialists, businessmen are accompanying the premier to Tehran.
