Managing director of Iran Khodro Industrial Group Hashem Yekkeh Zare said that given the increase of car production to three million by 2025 and the need for export of one third of the figure, fresh investments should certainly take place in the sector.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of Auto Industry Capabilities Exhibition on Sunday, he added that plans have been made to produce and market three types of automobiles ‘208’, ‘2008’, ‘301’ in cooperation with Peugeot.
Cooperation with Suzuki, Mercedes Benz, Peugeot and Renault has been finalized and Fiat has also voiced readiness to enter the Iranian market, he said, adding that in most of the deals, it has been mentioned that at least 30 percent of products should be exported.
The First Exhibition of Auto Industry Capabilities opened Sunday afternoon in a ceremony attended by Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Rezaa Nematzadeh.
The event featuring products of 212 Iranian companies will end on March 2.
