The Danish producer of heterogeneous catalysts Haldor Topsoe is planning partnership with Iran’s petrochemical sector as soon as the sanctions on Iran are lifted.

Per K. Bakkerud, Haldor Topsoe’s executive committee member and group vice president, told a senior panel meeting of the 12th Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF 2015) that the company is seeking to ‘a long-term presence in Iran immediately after the removal of sanctions,’ according to Shana news agency.
‘Iran enjoys an exquisite status in the world with regard to its vast oil and gas reserves and can develop dramatically in the field,’ he said.
Haldor Topsoe specializes in the production of heterogeneous catalysts and the design of process plants based on catalytic processes, he said.
The company’s focus areas include the fertilizer industry, chemical and petrochemical industries, and the energy sector (refineries and power plants).
Haldor Topsoe is one of the world’s leading companies within the field of heterogeneous catalysis, and appx. 50 percent of the fertilizer used on a worldwide scale is made with the help of technology from Haldor Topsoe.
‘We are waiting the removal of sanctions to restore our activities in Iran,’ Bakkerud said.
Some 97 foreign companies from 25 countries have participated in IPF 2015 which shows an increase of 120 percent compared to IPF 2014.
More than 15,00 representatives from domestic and foreign firms including Australia, Azerbaijan, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherland, Russia, and US are taking part in the event.
Participants in the IPF 2015, one of the world’s most prestigious events representing the petrochemical industry, are discussing the core issues that the industry is facing with the emphasis given to Iran.
