Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said on Sunday that opening up credit lines and finance by Sweden would serve to develop economic cooperation with Iran, particularly on the area of information and communication technology.

Vaezi made the remarks after a meeting in Tehran with visiting Sweden’s Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg.
Allocating credit lines and finance will serve to develop economic cooperation and carrying out joint development projects, Vaezi said.
Referring to longstanding industrial relations between Iran and Sweden, Vaezi said that Ericson is a Swedish company has a record of cooperation with Iran for 116 years.
Noting that the two countries are determined to give a boost to bilateral cooperation, particularly on information and communications technology, Vaezi said that Sweden did not leave Iran during the sanctions and kept in contact with Iranian operators.
Sweden has had good negotiations with main Iranian cellphone operators over the past two months and has even signed contracts with them, Vaezi said.
