In a meeting between managing directors of Anzali Free Trade Zone Organization and Russia’s Lotus Astrakhan Special Economic Zone, expansion of trade ties including activation of the North-Sea Corridor was discussed.

‘Anzali is a reliable economic partner for Astrakhan,’ which can join Russia and Iran along the corridor from Central Asia to Persian Gulf and South Asia, visiting Sergei Miloshkin told Reza Masrour here on Sunday.

‘We are ready for launching of trade corridors and joint investment by private sectors in order to develop marine transportation,’ the Russian official said.

Masrour said Iran and Russia enjoy vast potentials to increase their trade ties, for instance, in the areas of machinery and fishery equipment.

He said that Anzali FTZ has established ties with ports in the Caspian Sea basin in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan.
