A total of 8,727,780 tons of non-oil commodities and gas condensates were exported from Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone in the first eight months of the year (starting on March 21, 2015), showing 32 percent growth compared to the figure for the same period the previous year.

Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone Organization’s website announced on Tuesday that development of South Pars phases and increase in the production capacity of petrochemical facilities this year led to growth in the export of petrochemical products, gas liquids and other non-oil commodities from the region.
Managing Director of the Organization, Mehdi Youssefi said a 32 percent increase was recorded in the exports of non-oil commodities from the region until November 21. In the first eight months of last year, about 6,620,856 tons of non-oil goods had been exported from the region, Youssefi said. The official said commissioning of the new phases of South Pars, which serve as the main feedstock of petrochemical facilities, and willingness of different countries of the world to receive products from the region were the most important factors for increase in export of the goods.
The official said export of non-oil commodities and gas condensates until mid November stood at 992,194 tons and the products from Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone are exported to 29 countries.
Earlier, Director General of the Customs Office of Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone Khodadad Rahimi had told IRNA that the Zone’s products were exported to China, Japan, the UAE, India, Turkey, Iraq, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Armenia, Russia, Mozambique, Egypt, Syria, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Qatar, Tanzania, Philippines, Ghana, Kenya, Azerbaijan, Georgia, South Korea and Mexico.
Now, 72 percent of gas consumed in Iran, i.e. 300 million cubic meters a day, is produced in South Pars gas field and based on predictions, this year 100 million cubic meters of gas will be added to South Pars production capacity. The projects for development of South Pars phases will be complete in the next two years.
Commissioning of new phases of South Pars will lead to remarkable jump in production and export of petrochemical products and gas condensates from the giant gas field.
