Italian companies are seeking continued investment in Iran, said Director General of Italy’s Industries, Mines and Trade Association Andre Gabriel.
Addressing a meeting of the Italian delegation comprising directors of 20 Italian companies and East Azarbaijan province’s merchants, he added that establishment of Iranian-Italian firms in fields of energy, oil, industries and auto-making are among the objectives behind Italian companies’ presence in Tabriz.
During the same gathering, director of Italian state-run industries Gualtiero Malo also voiced Italian companies’ readiness for cooperation and establishment of a representative office in Tabriz.
He called for close ties with Iran, especially the companies in Tabriz.
Head of Tabriz Chamber of Commerce Samad Hassanzadeh told the gathering that Tabriz is one of the industrial and commercial hubs in Iran.
He added that the history of trade in the ancient city of Tabriz dates back to over 700 years ago.
East Azarbaijan province boasts of suitable capacities in the fields of food industries, petrochemical, tractor manufacturing and ceramic, the official added.
