Head of Trade Development Organization of Iran (TDOI) Valiollah Afkhamirad said that Lebanon has made good progresses in the field of tourism, hotel building and travel services, adding that Iran is ready to offer necessary lands to Lebanese investors to build hotel at Tehran International Fairground.
He made the remarks in a meeting with a Lebanese commercial delegation here on Tuesday .
Afkhamirad explained investment opportunities in Iran and said that legally there are incentives for development of foreign investments, such as 20-year tax exemption in free trade zones.
He expressed hope that with the clinching of a nuclear deal between Iran and Group 5+1 the level of trade between Iran and Lebanon would increases three fold to reach 300 million dollars.
Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade said that TDOI is tasked with taken necessary measures for Iran to join World Trade Organization and in this concern it is willing to use Lebanese experiences.
He expressed hope that the meeting could be a beginning for practical moves in the field of trade, and added that Iran-Lebanon economic ties unlike their long standing political relations are just at the beginning of the road.
President of Lebanese Businessmen Association Fuad Zmokhol, for his part, expressed hope that statements of both sides would translate into action.
He said that his accompanying 26-man delegation represents 100 well-known and reputable companies.
Zmokhol said ‘We make up the private sector of Lebanon and some of us are traveling to Iran for the first time and we are surprised by the rapid progress of Iran.’
He expressed hope that trade and economic cooperation between the two countries would further expand in the future.
