Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan says his country is comprehensively engaged with Iran to enhance bilateral trade and economic relations.
Speaking in the Senate during question hour on Friday, the minister said that the bilateral relations have witnessed an improvement following the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Iran in May 2014.
Khurram Dastgir said the government is working on several important projects with Iran including gas pipeline and import of electricity.
Earlier on Thursday, President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain while receiving credentials from new Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Mahdi Honardoost, reiterated that there is enough potential to bring bilateral trade to 5 billion dollars.
